We seek someone to serve as the district resource in Information and Educational Technology by overseeing network operation, supervising and mentoring technology staff, and working with other administrators, teachers, and students. Identify new program funding and opportunities and coordinate the goals of the district technology plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and create a K-12 technology plan, submit and carry out the goals set forth in the technology plan.
Update board regularly on the status of district technology and technology initiatives.
Serve the district in the work of strategic planning for future updates and changes.
Exhibit extensive knowledge of a variety of hardware and software applications, infrastructure equipment including routers/switches/cabling and fiber optic cabling, IP Telephony and phones, client computer hardware/software and related equipment, Internet content filtering, firewall management, video distribution and student management systems (SMS).
Support a variety of educational and business critical applications.
Administer network/system performance, security, and business continuity. Maintain data integrity and quality control protocols.
Maintain business relationships with vendors, outside technical support, and consultants regarding purchase, installation and maintenance of equipment.
Communicates regularly with hardware, software, and network vendors to correct problems, explore new technology and determine the feasibility of system requirements.
Oversee and assists vendors, support organizations, consultants, and/or contractors that may perform installation of equipment and/or network software to ensure accuracy of work and compliance with contracts.
Control access at the head end of the data center, wiring closets and other facilities, which controls the reliable operation of the converged network and related systems and the integrity and security of the information system on the network (WAN and LAN).
Implementation, maintenance, monitoring and administration of the various hardware and software components associated with the network (WAN and LAN).
Continually improve network operation procedures and ensure staff carries them out.
Participate with individuals responsible for the curriculum to assist with integration.
Work with the superintendent or designee to direct the implementation of new operational technology and assist in instructional technology.
Serve as a resource to teachers, students, and administrators.
Prepare and submit funding for the USF funding with following stated timelines and guidelines.
Innnovate by keeping up with new developments and programs in the area of technology
Sets annual goals for his/her department and monitors progress.
Provide leadership to all district contact persons and departments to facilitate comprehensive plans into the district plan to integrate operational technology systems.
Develop and utilize student technology cadets in a mutually beneficial arrangement to support technology in the classrooms, while providing practical computer experience and mentoring to the student(s).
Interviewing, recommending personnel to be hired, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree recommended, Master's degree a plus, with an emphasis in technology systems and education a plus. Have had successful experiences in the following: Extensive experience in supervising, monitoring, evaluating, hiring, and leading staff. At least five years of on the job experience with hardware, software, integrated systems, networks, (WAN and LAN) and all aspects of operational technology in a supervisory capacity. Have excellent human relation skills and work effectively with a wide range of publics, including experience in training adults. Has demonstrated successful experience in developing, coordinating, implementing and assessing operational technologies and related systems.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
MSBO CTO, Novell (CNA/CNE), Windows (MCP/MCSE), A+, N+, and Cisco are preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise all employees in the technology department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws.
Terms of Employment: Salary starting at $75,000 based on experience.
Contract Length: 260 days
