POSITION SUMMARY: The TIA Assessment & Data Specialist will support the identification, implementation, and assessment of effective data management and assessment systems to expand strategic compensation across the state. The primary goal of this position is to support the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), which aims to develop and implement a strategic compensation system that increases the teaching talent pool and enhances the retention of district instructional teams. The specialist will engage directly with identified districts to collect, interpret, and analyze data, supporting the TIA identification process across all district teaching staff.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid Texas Teaching license
PREFERRED: Master's Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years teaching experience; Previous experience in project management preferred
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders. Knowledge of and experience with a variety of assessments, best practices regarding assessments, and Student Learning Objectives (SLOs). Expertise in using effective data protocols and systems. Strong long-term planning, project management, and organizational skills. Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and management abilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Results-oriented with a strong work ethic, coupled with excellent coordination and time management skills. Highly adaptable with a comfort in navigating ambiguity.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive assessment system to evaluate teacher leader effectiveness, while supporting districts with the adoption, expansion, and implementation of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). Facilitate data collection around teacher evaluation, including observations, appraisals, student assessments, SLOs, and other relevant measures, and guide districts through the process of TIA Data Validation. Coordinate, track, and present project information to maintain stakeholder engagement and ensure a shared understanding across district teams, ESCs, and other stakeholders. Establish systems and structures that align with grant deliverables and support long-term planning. Ensure grant compliance by collaborating with internal teams, districts, ESCs, and the TEA, and communicate expectations effectively across all stakeholders. Develop and sustain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and create a system for tracking strategies, identifying best practices, and promoting broader dissemination.
