Job Summary and Requirements
This is full-time, permanent position working 75 hours bi-weekly

As a member of EMR's Mineral Resources Branch, you are part of a professional team whose objective is to advance resource planning to support the orderly development of Yukon's mineral resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. The Mining Lands Unit works to build a competitive and sustainable mining industry in Yukon while protecting Yukon government from environmental liabilities of mineral exploration and placer mine development.
Reporting to the Director, and as a member of the Mineral Resources senior management team, this position is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a number of program areas including: granting and maintenance of mineral rights, preparation of decision documents pursuant to YESAA, approval of mining land use operating plans, and preparation of quartz mining licenses.

- Degree in Public Administration, Environmental Sciences, Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field;
- Developing, delivering and evaluating programs, strategies, policies and services for natural resource development and management;
- Administration of resource legislation and experience dealing with regulatory matters;
- Building partnerships within and outside of the organization, including the development of successful protocols and partnerships with First Nations, communities, non-government organizations and other government departments;
- Significant experience coaching/mentoring and team building of multidisciplinary teams;
- Significant experience managing human and financial resources.
