Senior Civil Engineer

Summary:

We are actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Department in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves leading all phases of civil engineering design development, particularly for projects aligned with U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in land development, drainage, grading, and utility systems, and will be capable of managing multiple high-level projects in the Department of Defense (DoD) space.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle civil engineering design for land development and infrastructure projects
• Ensure designs comply with DoD standards, codes, and specifications
• Lead project planning, design, and execution for site development including building pads, foundations, utility infrastructure, drainage, and grading
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, budget control, and timely delivery
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff
• Develop and manage construction plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and government agencies
• Conduct site visits to review progress and resolve technical challenges
• Prepare and process change orders, maintain budgets, and contribute to project forecasting

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum of 20 years in civil engineering with a focus on land development, drainage, grading, and utilities
• At least 6 years of specialized experience in drainage and utility design
• Prior experience managing DoD-related civil engineering projects is highly preferred
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline (required)

Licensing:

• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)
