Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to building new customer-facing services that enhance the portfolio of Trusted and Confidential Computing services for securing Azure customers. You will be responsible for developing high-quality security cloud services in Azure. This position offers a unique challenge to build services that provide security and simplicity for Azure customers. You will be solving complex problems, contributing to architecture, partnering with team members, and ensuring high code quality, availability, scalability, and security of our services. You will help create a positive and productive engineering culture and contribute to building best-in-class solutions that delight and protect our customers. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the strategy and roadmap for Trusted and Confidential Computing on Azure, working in close collaboration with partners across C+AI and Microsoft.
- Participate and provide high-quality feedback in design reviews, code reviews, and other team activities.
- Design and implement cloud-scale services that power products like Trusted and Confidential Computing on Azure.
- Develop distributed services at hyper scale and ensure high development agility and operational efficiency.
- Own all aspects of building and running highly available secure distributed services while providing mission-critical functionality for Azure.
- Participate in design and code reviews, provide high-quality feedback, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remove blockers and drive comprehensive end-to-end service delivery.
- Work on end-to-end aspects of building and running highly available secure distributed services providing mission-critical functionality for Azure.
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with designing and implementing high-quality software.
- Design and development experience, including development in C#/C++, preferably with distributed programming models.
- Building and designing very large-scale systems; prior experience in building large-scale online systems is a big plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience in Windows client, server OS security, Linux Security, and applied cryptography is a plus.
- Ability to go deep into security features.
- Experience with ML and/or AI.
