A stealth-mode aerospace startup is developing the first reusable satellite platform capable of controlled reentry, shaping the future of orbital logistics, manufacturing, and sustainable space infrastructure. As a Spacecraft Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and integration of the spacecraft's electrical power systems, supporting everything from architecture definition to space-rated electronics development. Job Duties
  • Architect spacecraft power distribution systems for complex, large-scale in-orbit platforms
  • Design and implement space-rated embedded electronics, including radiation-tolerant systems
  • Lead technical reviews and trade studies on power components and subsystem architectures
  • Develop embedded firmware for power management and control
  • Oversee PCBA design, manufacturing, and qualification for flight hardware
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and software teams to ensure integrated system performance
  • Work with suppliers to customize and qualify novel electronics solutions for space applications
  • Contribute to overall spacecraft systems integration and interface definition

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on spacecraft power systems
  • Proven experience designing, qualifying, and deploying electronics for spaceflight missions
  • Strong background in embedded systems, hardware and firmware
  • Deep understanding of power electronics, PCBA development, and high-reliability manufacturing standards
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-ownership, multidisciplinary environment

Preferred Experience
  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience designing radiation-hardened or radiation-tolerant circuitry
  • Familiarity with FPGA development and digital system design
  • Knowledge of aerospace reliability standards (e.g., SMC-S-016, EEE-INST-002)
  • Previous experience in early-stage hardware startups or lean space programs

Compensation Details

$125,000 - $175,000 plus equity
