Responsibilities

Berkshire Hathway Guard Insurance is seeking a candidate to lead the monitoring and reporting on our Distribution relationships. This role is a highly collaborative role which works with many different stakeholders within the company and very closely with the Head of Distribution. They will be responsible for making sure we have excellent visibility and accountability around our many agent, broker, and delegated authority trading relationships.

Visibility on the performance of all agents and brokers

Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management team, Data & Analytics, and other relevant parties within Guard to ensure we have proper reporting and monitoring of all of agent and broker relationships.
  • Oversee the management and improvement of our partner performance management report.
  • Review all existing agent and broker reporting to determine efficacy of these reports.
  • Manage requests for reports to determine if they should be developed and if so, what the timing should be.

Agent and Broker Classifications

Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management team, and Data & Analytics to maintain and monitor our new agency classifications.
  • Track all agency classifications and work with Distribution Management to ensure alignment on classifications of our Agents and Brokers.
  • Work with Regional Managers on proper reporting on our classifications.
  • Work with Data & Analytics and Distribution Management to determine if Territory Managers can meet the estimated level of contacts based on new agency classifications.

Agency Profiles

Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management team, and Data & Analytics to develop a much better profile of our agent and brokers.
  • Work with Distribution Management and their Territory Managers to ensure agency profiles are regularly updated.
  • Develop share of wallet expectations to ensure meaningful and relevant relationships with our agents and brokers.

Agency review process
  • Produce monthly reporting on our Premier Trading partners working with Distribution Management to be shared with Executive Management Team.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and reviews of all of key agents and brokers.
  • Monitor and track all Agency Incentive Plans
  • Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management team, Data & Analytics, Finance and other relevant parties within Guard to ensure we have proper visibility and monitoring of all of agent and broker incentives.
  • Track all agency incentives and estimate projected additional costs of these incentives for each year
  • Ensure wording of these incentives is reviewed by legal, communications, finance, actuarial and any other necessary parties.

Consistency of Agency Engagement

Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management Team, Production Underwriting, Product, and Marketing and Communications to develop and disseminate key talking points for our Distribution team to ensure consistency of communication on key initiatives.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications, Data and Analytics, Product, and the Distribution Management team to provide consistent message to our relationship owners in Distribution.

Territory manager incentives

Work with Head of Distribution, Distribution Management team, and Data & Analytics to align our territory manager incentives with partner management objectives.
  • Work side by side with Regional Managers to make sure we put into place territory manager incentives that align with Guard's objectives of growing small commercial package.

Distribution Manual

Work with Head of Distribution and Distribution Management team to keep our Distribution Manual up to date.
  • Agency management system/CRM
  • Work with distribution management to improve existing functionality for managing our agents in our system.
  • Work with Head of Distribution and others to determine future strategy for CRM.
  • Other projects
  • Handle other special projects as assigned including things such as assisting with quarterly business review prep, help drive new initiatives/opportunities, etc.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data reporting and monitoring is key.
  • Understanding of Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools a plus.


Salary

$120,000K-$175,000K USD with a performance base bonus

The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week and also be available for travel as required.

The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
