Unit Description
The Data Analytics Framework Unit (DAFU) provides the underlying data architecture and data governance - collection, tagging, evidentiary storage, data enrichment, and processing - capabilities that support FBI applications. DAFU's portfolio of enterprise data management and analytic solutions includes the Red and Green Data Lakes, Content Warehouse, Analytic Sandbox, Magnum, Automated Data Feeds, Insider and Security Analytics Platform, Enterprise Data Pipeline, Enterprise Analytics, and Data Integration and Visualization System (DIVS). DAFU supports its application and service portfolio through continuous security updates, system upgrades, and customer support.
Major Duties
  • Coordinate with components across the Enterprise Data Pipeline (EDP) to successfully onboard new datasets, ensuring adherence to EDAS data governance standards.
  • Support delivery of managed data services and applications through direct customer communications, technology assessments, and technical implementation.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to include customers, business managers, and the development team to ensure the goals and mission are clear.
  • Manage and participate in concurrent projects to effectively lead and communicate with peers, and all levels of management in various situations.
  • Create and update lists of backlog items and prioritize them based on the overall EDAS strategy and business objectives.
  • Identify and manage risks/dependencies associated with various cross team development efforts.

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Experience using project management practices to support various IT functions.
  • Experience guiding and/or directing a team of technical personnel in accomplishing an assigned mission.
  • Experience using information technology to identify, forecast, analyze, and research automated systems to discern solutions to problems, approaches, methods, and procedures.
  • Experience using IT principles, concepts, and methods including but not limited to Software Application, Network Services, Customer Support, Data Management, Internet, Security and Systems Analysis.

    • Relocation expenses MAY be borne by the FBI. Candidates receiving a transfer of physical location, whether at the expense of the FBI or not, will be required to complete a one-year commitment to the assignment, prior to moving to a new position at the FBI. The 12-month waiting period begins the day an employee reports for duty at the new location.

    a. Percent of time worked in the particular position (cannot conflict with main duties)
    b. The month/year work began
    c. Frequency worked (i.e., daily, monthly, etc.)
