Job Description

The SVP, Entertainment Leader is responsible for driving the strategy, profit and growth of the Media and Entertainment Industry Practice for North America Commercial Insurance, and will report to the EVP, Commercial Insurance Specialty Manager. The Industry Practice Leader will work closely with colleagues in other divisions, adjacent industry practice experts, and line of business managers to create strategies for these industry practices and work closely with the field to effectively implement strategy and execute upon the business.

The location of this position is flexible. Candidates should be able to work remotely with appropriate travel to Whitehouse Station and the field as necessary to manage this complex business. Expected travel within North America is 15%.

*The career band/level for this position will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: develop business plans for this Industry practices ensuring the execution meets strategic and financial objectives. Evaluate strategy and adjust as necessary to meet changing market conditions.
  • Accountable with support and concurrence of line of business for driving, executing, and achieving the Industry Practice business plan, including local team underwriting approach, profit, retention, and growth.
  • Establish short and long term strategic goals, operational priorities, and forecasts to achieve revenue growth goals for the industry practice.
  • Be active in the marketplace with agency visits, presentations, trade shows, alliances to raise awareness of Chubb's capabilities in Industry Practice
  • Develop and execute a plan to effectively utilize distribution for the Industry Practice as necessary or appropriate.
  • Update and develop GoTo Market guide for Tactical Target Segments within Media and Entertainment.
  • Update and review Industry strategies and use of policy forms to ensure compliance of current corporate underwriting strategies.
  • Establish business plans with key producers. Identify and develop producers who indicate an interest in developing proficiency in this area.
  • Establish and track progress against plans, highlighting issues, controlling costs, and maintaining underwriting integrity.
  • Develop Industry practice positioning and pricing strategies to produce desired long-term growth and profitability.
  • Lead/manage the new product identification and development process.
  • Make appropriate decisions on accounts to ensure growth and long-term profitability of the industry practice.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Managers, CI managers, Specialists and Executive Field Underwriters to effectively implement the strategies.
  • Take the lead in prioritizing training to include training field underwriters and CI Managers on the initiative.
  • Work extensively with industry practice and line of business partners, general counsel, actuarial, data analytics, and other senior leaders.


Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong collaborator with counterparts and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.

  • Detailed oriented around rating, contract language, aggregation, and system integration.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial underwriting experience in film and theater.
  • Strong knowledge of Film and Theater business, industry issues, products, distribution, and compliance.
  • Experience developing financial business case and/or proposals for "go to market" strategies.

The pay range for the role is $200,000 to $250,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
