Here's what your day-to-day might include:

As a Systems Engineer on a mission-focused team, you won't just be defining requirements-you'll be the driving force behind building systems that are secure, scalable, and built to last. From shaping early concepts to guiding technical teams through development and integration, your work will help connect big ideas to real-world results.

Here's what your day might include:
  • Analyzing user needs and system architectures to define, document, and refine system requirements
  • Leading design and development efforts, guiding teams in turning high-level goals into functional, tested systems
  • Collaborating with users to explore alternative approaches, conduct feasibility studies, and define what "success" looks like
  • Developing and maintaining system architecture, engineering plans, and technical documentation
  • Driving the integration of requirements, design, and technology into cohesive solutions
  • Participating in design reviews, risk assessments, and decision-making with stakeholders and government counterparts
  • Managing interface definitions and ensuring alignment across hardware, software, and operational components
  • Supporting system integration, test planning, and verification efforts across the full engineering lifecycle
  • Applying SOA and DoDAF principles to implement operational, technical, and service views of system architecture
  • Evaluating and implementing Information Assurance requirements, including authentication, access control, and encryption mechanisms
  • Leading change management, ensuring traceability, and maintaining the technical integrity of evolving systems
  • Conducting analysis on non-functional areas like reliability, maintainability, survivability, and system performance
  • Using tools like NiFi, Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes (RKE2) to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-native and containerized environments
  • Managing Ceph storage systems, supporting updates and resolving technical issues
  • Supporting certification and accreditation processes, and contributing to JCIDS documentation as needed

Whether you're designing a new architecture, refining data flows, or ensuring compliance across a distributed environment, your work will help shape systems that support national security at every level.

Qualifications:
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • An additional five (5) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree
  • Clearance:TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Citizenship:Must be a U.S. Citizen

Compensation Range: $152,000.00 - $201,000.00

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate's background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
