Position Summary
Lead the Product Costing team for Nestle Canada as engaged Business partners to the businesses and One Operations. Improve business planning through effective cost projections and transparency of cost levers for business partners to enable good decision-making on the basis of TDC. Ensuring the accuracy and timely publication of the PEC and DF. Lead value creation through leveraging expertise of Costing CCC.

A day in the life of a Costing Planning Manager:

Business Planning
Synchronize the annual planning of the costing function, ensuring critical dates are attained and quality data is delivered through the support of the Costing Team. Management of critical dates and resolution of obstacles to produce quality information for planning and reporting deliverables.

Dynamic Forecast & Annual Planning
With the support of larger team, prepare the annual Plan and quarterly DF figures for the NCI business for COGS, FFOH, Depreciation, and PRO. Communicate the major cost drivers between periods to enable the Category Finance team to draw connections between business choices and financial outcomes. Co-ordinate the creation of the ACE with the Factory Finance team.

Reporting & Publication of Actual Results
Produce first-time quality of actual results, in compliance with NAS. Perform health-checks during the monthly cycle to identify errors at source (root cause identification) and improve practices in the process that affect the quality of monthly results. Prepare the monthly reports and share business insights with Category Finance. Liaise with other Finance teams to ensure consistency between P&L results and factory/coman/TP inputs.

Business Partnership
Operate as a business partner to Category teams and One Operations by providing timely and insightful visibility to TDC drivers and variances highlighting implications and areas that may require actions.

People Leadership
Lead and develop a team of individuals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
Set clear goals, enable performance, and provide feedback to ensure team members are aligned with organizational objectives and motivated to achieve.
Strengthen the end-to-end knowledge of the Product Costing team and develop Business Partnering. Promote clear understanding of critical knowledge within the Costing function, preparing Costing Managers for improved co-piloting. Improve the link between technical knowledge, cost levels, and business decisions, enabling the Product Costing team to influence the businesses they support towards decision-making.

Continuous Improvement
Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and drive out inefficiencies through automation, collaboration with COC, clarification in roles and responsibilities; adopt and champion best practices.

What will make you successful?
  • University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required. Accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA or CPA) or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience in Finance & Accounting including 2-3 years in Factory Finance or Supply Chain Finance or Cost Management or Audit / Corporate Accounting positions.
  • Ability to distill complex cost data and dynamics into succinct and actionable insights
  • Exceptional leadership skills, leading teams through change, servant leader who empowers, coaches, and challenges for best performance and continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders by understanding and addressing their needs while also respectfully pushing back on non-value add asks. True mindset of value creation and business partnering
  • Strong business acumen in understanding CPG industry and brand strategies
  • Solid understanding of business processes and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of exchange rate impacts and hedging processes.
