Oracle EPM Technical Application Manager
Our West Fraser Vancouver Corporate office seeks a problem-solving and goal-oriented individual with 6+ years of consolidation and planning software experience to manage our cloud-based Oracle EPM application. This role leads a team responsible for system governance, design, configuration, testing, documentation, security, operation and maintenance of our Oracle EPM application while partnering with business leaders and EPM application users. You will develop and implement the EPM strategy and operate the application to support business teams in delivering robust and scalable consolidation, reporting, planning and analysis functions and implement solutions to maintain a reliable, high-quality application that can respond to changing business conditions.
Your work experience should include supporting the integration of Oracle EPM cloud with on-premises Oracle EBS. Our financial consolidations include foreign currency translations, intercompany eliminations, top side adjustments, KPI reporting, statutory/legal entity reporting and multi-GAAP adjustments, attribution and allocation computations, multiple consolidation levels, alternative hierarchies, and changes in ownership structures over time. Our planning module includes 24-month rolling forecasts and driver-based planning. You can navigate and train in Smartview and Narrative Reporting, including the HS-GetValue report writing function.
We seek a self-starter with excellent communication skills who thrives on teaching EPM best practices, seeking process improvements and ensuring quality work by themselves and the team. You will have a solid accounting foundation, be an experienced manager, and be a strong team player. You will need strong project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple business owners with competing needs.

You'll Do:
- Create and maintain EPM governance, service level agreements, administration/procedural policies, and guideline documentation based on business needs, SOX controls, and security requirements.
- Responsible for requirements gathering, design, and solution architecture, as well as configuring EPM application components in line with business, functional, and performance requirements. This includes optimal dimension configuration, business rule/calc script customization, web forms/task list definition, Financial Reporting Web Studio reports, SmartView templates and other tools.
- Develop and maintain processes to ensure data quality, including data mapping, validation, and translation.
- Coordinate monthly EPM application patching activities, including impact analysis and regression testing
- Support the financial close and reporting process, including financial consolidation for external and legal entity reporting, tax filings, statutory disclosures, creation and maintenance of reports in the Narrative Reporting module, and management dashboards.
- Support the financial planning and analysis process, providing expert advice on design/architecture incorporating leading practices, including business and finance strategy, target setting, profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow forecasting, key performance metrics, financial analytics, driver-based planning, and rolling forecast.
- Provide support for software implementation, including overseeing testing, training and revised system documentation. This may include managing external consultants.
- Identify and resolve performance and functional issues through robust processes to diagnose root causes and implement solutions.
- Participate in system audits & internal control reviews.
- Participate in EPM disaster recovery planning.
- Provide leadership and support to the team on day-to-day operations and initiatives.
You'll Have
- 6+ years of experience in consolidation and planning software with at least 2 years using Oracle cloud EPM (EPBCS, PCMCS, ARCS, Tax reporting, and Data Management)
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Computer Information Technology, or a designated CPA.
- Advanced understanding of financial statements, currency translations, inter-company eliminations, consolidation accounting, and closing processes under various GAAPs.
- Advanced understanding of FP&A processes, including strategic planning, bottoms-up and driver-based budgeting, scenario modeling and analysis, and multi-dimensional financial reporting.
- Experience designing and developing financial reports, including statutory and management reports using SmartView and narrative report writing skills, e.g. HS-GetValue.
- Demonstrated experience managing databases and multi-hierarchy reporting cubes.
- Experience with EPM process automation through EPM Automate, REST API, and PowerShell scripting and integrating cloud and on-premise applications to EPM using Data Management, data maps, and Groovy scripting.
- Proven ability to design and maintain robust data integration workflows using Oracle Data Integration (ODI) or equivalent export, transform and load (ETL) solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with Groovy scripting, SQL, Essbase calculations, advanced business rule development, and optimization techniques for ASO and BSO (or Hybrid) cubes.
- Workforce planning experience, including building models for headcount, compensation, and detailed financial scenarios.
- Demonstrated excellence in simplifying and fine-tuning calculations, reducing runtime, designing for scalability, and improving user experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to deliver complex, time-sensitive projects and resolve system issues under pressure.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Authorized to work in Canada and must work on-site in the downtown Vancouver office.
What We Offer:
- The typical annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000. We recognize that exceptional candidates may bring additional experience or unique qualifications, and we're committed to offering a competitive salary commensurate with their experience and skills.
