Position Overview
The Sr. Engineering Manager will function as a technical team leader and project manager of our private brand team. As the Sr. Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the engineering operations to deliver exceptional products and services to our customers. This is an engineering leadership role and therefore you must be an engineer and be comfortable in being hands on with the execution of the strategy.

What you'll do:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, collaborating and aligning with a wide variety of both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Develop the strategy and roadmap of engineering processes and best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct end-user research and field study to understand product functionality. Analysis product performance and value proposition
- Conduct product evaluation and benchmarking testing.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, product requirements, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Thrive in an environment of innovation and ambiguity, leading the team to explore new technologies and approaches. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and market trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Skills We Are Seeking
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering or related field
- Project Management certification preferred (PMP, CAPM, or ACP)
- Must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models
- Must have a strong focus on understanding and enhancing the customer experience
- Must have the ability to negotiate and manage conflict with both internal and external customers
- Product management and/or private label brand experience required
- Must have experience leading cross functional teams and suppliers through new product development from design to execution
- Must have experience writing and reviewing testing protocols and product requirements on commercial and consumer products
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex or technical material and processes in easy-to-understand terms to all levels in the organization
- Wholesale distribution experience and experience with a wide range of manufacturing processes preferred - knowledge of nursery, irrigation, agronomics, lighting and landscape products and practices a plus
- Must have a proven track record of modernizing legacy supply chain technologies at scale
Education:
- Degree in Engineering required (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field applicable to consumer product development); Computer or Software Engineering degrees do not meet this requirement.
