If you are eager to spearhead the development and expansion of our transportation engineering team, this is the position for you.
The Construction Services Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction projects and ensuring their successful completion. Draws on firm internal and external resources to provide technical guidance, administrative and technical services, and facilities necessary for efficient, profitable, timely, and technically excellent project execution. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of construction projects, from initiation to completion.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and oversee all phases of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Develop and implement project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to schedule and budget constraints.
Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Review and approve contractor and vendor invoices, change orders, and payment requests.
Manage project documentation, including contracts, drawings, permits, and regulatory approvals.
Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve issues.
Collaborate with procurement and purchasing departments to procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure the availability of resources and competitive pricing.
Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and implement solutions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing construction activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to effectively communicate ideas and technical concepts to co-workers.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:
5+ years of construction project management experience.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Professional Engineering License (e.g., PE) is a plus.
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Core office hours generally fall between 7 am and 5 pm. Some projects may require working outside of normal hours.
Work Environment:
Professional office environment.
Travel to sites to provide supervision of drilling and excavation contractors and prepare reports.
May work outdoors on occasion and will be exposed to a variable of weather conditions.
Might require the use of PPE, such as slip-resistant steel-toed shoes, high visibility vests, hard hats, and latex gloves.
Ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
