IGS is currently recruiting for a DevOps Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This position is pending contract award, applicants will be reviewed post-award.
Assignment of Work and Travel:
This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
- Software engineering and scientific tasks in planning, development, production, operations and maintenance environments, which are broad in nature and are concerned with the design, development, layout, and testing of devices or systems.
- Plans and performs software engineering/programming, scientific research, studies, and analysis that may include;
- Cloud based analytics and tool development
- Technology planning; applied systems architecture development and integration
- Applied requirements development, concept development
- Data structure design; systems and software design
- Application programming, script development, development and integration
- Test and evaluation; systems operation; control of systems and components
- Integrated logistics support
- Modeling and simulation
- Configuration management
- Systems and mission engineering
- Systems acquisition; and life-cycle management
- Design, develop, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to support software deployment and integration.
- Support cloud infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across development environments.
- Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DevOps strategies that align with mission objectives.
- Support Agile development practices, ensuring seamless integration of DevOps solutions into sprint cycles.
- Provide troubleshooting of complex deployment and system issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline. (Bachelor's Degree - Can be substituted for an Associate's Degree and two (2) additional years of relevant experience, or four (4) additional years of relevant experience and High School Diploma/GED. Associate's degree - Can be substituted for High School Diploma/GED and two (2) additional year's relevant experience.)
- 3 years relevant experience in a DevOps or Automation role
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOp, or Gitlab CI/CD.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, security frameworks, and best practices.
- Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement

- Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs and/or other federal organizations
- Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment
