Description:
Reporting to the AVP, Financial and Corporate Communications, the Director of Financial Communications will manage the development and delivery of communications relating to the Company's CFO and the Global Finance team. Additionally, they will support the AVP in articulating Manulife's financial and strategic narrative, working closely with Investor Relations, Office of the Corporate Secretary, and partners within Global Finance.
In this role, the Director of Financial Communications will define and amplify communications for Manulife's Global Finance team, including the CFO, for internal and external audiences, aligned to business and functional priorities and goals, through clear and engaging content across all channels.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD

In this role, the Director of Financial Communications will define and amplify communications for Manulife's Global Finance team, including the CFO, for internal and external audiences, aligned to business and functional priorities and goals, through clear and engaging content across all channels.
Position Responsibilities:
- Strategic messaging: Primary communications lead for the Global Finance team, including developing and executing a holistic communication strategy aligned to functional priorities and goals.
- Executive Communications: Leading and developing speeches, blogs, executive briefs, social media, town hall presentations, media engagements, and quarterly reporting messaging for the CFO.
- Engaging and inspiring colleagues: Developing internal communications across a variety of channels in support of key initiatives and programs, working closely with senior executives and cross-functional leadership.
- Seamless collaboration: partnering with teams and colleagues across Global Finance, Global Communications, Legal, agencies and other partners to articulate Manulife's financial and strategic narrative to our key stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, colleagues and communities.
- Act as a trusted advisor: working closely with senior executives and business partners to provide strategic counsel on communications.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in external and internal communications as a publicly traded company, preferably in the financial services industry. Insurance industry experience is an asset.
- Experience across multiple communications disciplines (e.g. strategy communication, thought leadership and transformation messaging, colleague engagement, brand, issues management, and storytelling).
- Experience working with executives and senior leaders in a communications capacity, including building and executing integrated plans that reflect strategy, thought leadership, media and colleague communications.
- A strong grasp of global issues, current events, and business trends.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience collaborating with partners to articulate complex information in a clear and engaging way.
- Strong attention to detail, working through critical projects and deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
