The ITV Technical Specialist will participate in the Integrated Design Team and provides expert advice for the requirements definition verification and validation; provide expert advice for the definition of the verification and validation methods of the technical requirements and for the definition of the test objectives for the testable requirements; prepare the strategy for the project integration and testing; coordinate the integration and testing in-plant and at project sites in accordance with the test plans and procedures; prepare the test automation strategy.

The ITV Technical Specialist will participate in the Integrated Design Team and provides expert advice for the requirements definition verification and validation; provide expert advice for the definition of the verification and validation methods of the technical requirements and for the definition of the test objectives for the testable requirements; prepare the strategy for the project integration and testing; coordinate the integration and testing in-plant and at project sites in accordance with the test plans and procedures; prepare the test automation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Understands the customer's needs and prepares the ITV strategy meant to satisfy these needs
- Coordinates the analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements and the definition of the applicable test objectives
- Plans and coordinates integration activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project acceptance and commissioning risks
- Supervises the integration and test activities both in-plant and in the field ensuring application of standards, best practices/procedures and measuring the work quality
- Investigates integration of anomalies through review of data files, design documentation and through interaction with the development teams
- Coordinates the project verification and validation work, including the preparation of the test plans
- Provides expert analysis and recommendations to resolve system integration and commissioning problems and risks
- Provides expert advice and recommendations to increase the efficiency of the ITV work both in plant and at project sites
- Directs and reviews the work performed by the ITV team members
- Trains and develops the skills of the ITV team
- Prepares Test Automation strategy, updates the library of test scripts
- Optimizes in-house testing vs field testing, coordinates the development of the operational and stress / bust-it tests
- Communicates with the Customer on test and verification related topics
- Coordinates the preparation of system and subsystem requirements verification matrices
- Performs independent review of the test results
- Coordinates the execution of formal tests within the laboratory
- Prepares integration and test reports which record the pass/ fail status of planned tests and identify problems detected during the tests
- Prepares trip reports upon completion of field assignments
- Develops expert product knowledge through active participation in formal and on the job training, as well as self-study
- Assists in the development of ITV schedules and the associated progress reporting
- Coordinates the development of ITV processes and tools
- Ensures that the ITV team adheres to the company's processes
Required Skills and Experience
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related fields
- 8+ years of experience
- Systems, validation and verification experience for real time and/or safety critical system.
- Experienced with Python and C
- Organizational ability
- Strong communication skills. Must be fluent in English language.
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- CBTC or domain knowledge in Rail Signaling
- Systems Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Skills and Experience
- CENELEC certification
- Software testing, scripting and test automation experience preferred
- Software development experience in programming languages used in the area of control such as Python, C/C++, C#, Java, etc.
- Experience with Visual Studio
- Experience with Linux and Bash scripting
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience with GIT/ BitBucket
- Experience with Artifactory
- Experience with Jenkins / Continuous Integration
