The Vacancy
Metrology & Repair Supervisor
The Supervisor will act as the Lead Metrologist and will ensure the accuracy and reliability of instruments and measurement systems utilized in the manufacturing of electrical test equipment. You will also supervise a team of technicians for troubleshooting and repairing electronic instrumentation equipment.
Metrology Responsibilities & Duties
Develop procedures and verify calibration of measurement instruments
Analyze measurement data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and uncertainty levels
Develop measurement procedures and protocols in accordance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, Mil Std 45662A, 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21 standards
Document laboratory testing procedures and maintain records of measurement and calibration results for all internal devices and customer requested equipment
Conduct research to improve measurement techniques and technologies in collaboration with design engineers
Ensure all instrumentation and standards are traceable to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology
Calibration and recall management for manufacturing equipment; electronic instruments, EDS control, torque testing, pull strength, dimensional, & temperature.
Development and certification of personnel qualification and training
Proficiency in using measurement control software such as Met Cal & Met Track
Repair Responsibilities & Duties
Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
Planning, assigning work, and prioritization of jobs
Monitoring performance efficiency
Extensive experience in electronics, instrumentation, and repair work.
Analysis of root cause of failures
Preparation of reports and records of repair activities.
Collaboration with customer service representatives and other stakeholders
Knowledge of planning control systems, SAP preferred
Metrology & Repair Supervisor Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Metrology, Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of continuous improvement principles; Green Belt certification
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment & instrument repair operation
Procedural documentation creation and configuration control skills
Knowledge of quality management systems; ISO 9001
Management experience leading a team of repair/technicians and metrologists
Knowledge of safety procedures with electronic test equipment.
