Our Senior People Specialist will be a detail-oriented, strong communicator who enjoys being involved in and supporting all aspects of HR. You'll be joining a four-person People team in our San Francisco Bay Area headquarters-plus one more team member in Chicago. This role reports to our Manager of HR Operations, a key contributor. The position is onsite in our Union City office where most of our 270 employees work.

Our ideal candidate has experience and current knowledge of how to maintain a fully compliant and efficient HR Operations function, whether applying that to onboarding, offboarding, benefits and leaves administration, or employee document design and distribution. Requirements

As the Senior People Specialist you will play an important role in being the first stop for addressing employee inquiries and questions. You will serve as the general knowledge bank of information and be a resource for the larger organization. Equally important, you will have the wisdom to see when an issue is leaving your area of expertise/responsibility and needs to be handed off to our Business Partner team or one of your other teammates. This role will touch all parts of the HR function including documentation, administration, systems management, data analytics and reporting, all employee life cycle processes, benefits administration, and more.

  • Coordinate and seamlessly execute HR Programs; support automation and streamlining of programs and HR-related processes
  • Manage employee personnel files and all supporting documentation that comes with HR processes new hires, salary changes, leaves of absences, separations, ensuring items are completed, and securely filed
  • Support highly effective and seamless new hire experience; work with hiring manager, IT, Facilities, Business Partner team and Talent Manager to ensure proper setup for new hires or processing for exits; prepare and provide respective documentation in a timely, accurate and effective manner
  • Manage and optimize our People technology systems
  • Assist in the administration of our health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
  • Update I-9 and HR system as needed
  • While these are the primary responsibilities, this list is not all inclusive; we're seeking a proactive team player, comfortable and eager to wear a lot of hats and provide support wherever it may contribute to the success of the larger People function to improve our employees' experience here!


Skills and Qualifications

Assumes the best in working with others; not shy about asking questions if you don't understand something-we're here to help one another!
  • 5+ years Human Resources experience. Knowledge of Food Manufacturing a plus
  • Fluency in English and Spanish a must
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; must be self-directed with a strong ability to prioritize workload and adjust to changing demands
  • Strong capability and comfort using HRIS systems; meticulous attention to detail
  • Passion for process optimization and efficiency; proactive, creative, and solutions-oriented
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; demonstrable ability to build trusted relationships, influence and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Impeccable level of discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information that impact employees and the business


FSQ Compliance Agreement

According to your scope of work you will reinforce, develop, implement, and maintain the company's Food Safety and Quality Plans; assume control of the daily operation of the SQF System. Create, review, organize, distribute, and revise relevant policies, procedures, manuals, notices, SOPs, and forms according to your scope of work. You are responsible for Food safety and Food quality during the time that you work at La Terra Fina and are encouraged to report any Food safety / Food Quality to the FSQ Manager or Representative from the FSQ Team on site.

Salary Description

$95,000 to $115,000
