Your Role
As the Trade Compliance Manager you will successfully develop, implement and enforce compliance policies, standards, initiatives and procedures within the Compressor Technique Business Area related to but not restricted to: Import & Export compliance management including classification processes, product licensing requirements, creation of import/export declarations and documentation, trade preference management, free trade agreements, and sanctioned party screening
You will work locally with our transportation team and also work with our International Trade Compliance team. You will work a hybrid schedule (In office 3 days per week and from home 2) and be based out of our South Charlotte location
Oversee and implement import/export compliance activities and ensure full compliance with government regulations
Ensure compliance manual and related procedures are maintained and modified as necessary
Manage relationships with all customs brokers and freight forwarders. Monitor performance of brokers and forwarders through reviews including KPI's and compliance audits.
Determine whether imports/exports into/from the NASA region qualify for any applicable free trade agreements, special trade provisions/claims or other duty savings opportunities
Oversee the post entry audit process and value reconciliation processing/reporting
Develop and provide training to relevant departments and entities within CTBA to maintain awareness of import/export compliance requirements and changes
Maintain recordkeeping system of all import/export filings and ensure that required documents are complete, accurate and accessible for the recordkeeping periods according to the requirements of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, BIS - Department of Commerce and U.S. Census Bureau
Identify potential costs saving opportunities and make recommendations to leadership
Perform internal trade compliance audits across multiple entities within the Compressor Technique Business Area to assess business risk and implement process improvements and report findings to leadership
Manage all service provider contracts and processes as they relate to import/export trade compliance
Stay informed of tariff and compliance regulation changes, communicating these changes to leadership as needed
Align with local and global Trade Compliance to ensure best practices are identified and shared across the different business areas of Atlas Copco

To succeed, you will need
A completed bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field
Licensed Customs Broker
Strong understanding of customs regulations and HTS codes a must
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in trade compliance or related role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on knowledge and interest in PC applications, MS-office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with SAP S/4 Hana, GTS, or other similar systems used in trade compliance management is a plus
Experience of international transportation a plus
Experience of Mexican & Canadian custom regulations a plus
Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently to drive business results
Excellent written and verbal communication will be required to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change
Strong logical and analytical thinking will be needed to solve complex problems
High energy level and ability to handle multiple tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to quickly learn new processes and systems & develop and implement improvement opportunities
