Position Overview
The Fire Protection Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales, estimating, and design processes for fire protection systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates, lead the design of fire protection systems, and drive business development efforts to secure new projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for fire protection services and systems.
- Lead and manage teams responsible for fire safety design, installation, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate fire protection systems into MEP designs.
- Conduct risk assessments and fire safety audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
- Provide training and support to staff on fire safety practices and emergency response procedures.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and fire safety organizations to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
- Prepare and manage budgets for fire protection projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in fire protection, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience managing MEP projects and integrating fire systems into building designs.
- Proven track record in leading teams and driving organizational change.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Professional certifications in fire protection (e.g., NFPA, NICET) are preferred.
