-Ensure all documentation meets hospital, CMS, and Joint Commission standards for coding, billing, and quality reporting.

Discharge Planning and Continuity of Care:

-Engage with community-based providers and services to ensure continuity of care and reduce hospital readmission risks.

Emergency Response and Overnight Duties:

-Provide overnight hospitalist coverage as part of a shared call schedule, ensuring safe and efficient handoffs between shifts.

Procedural Skills (If Credentialed):

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety:

-Participate in ongoing hospital quality improvement projects, morbidity and mortality reviews, and patient safety initiatives.

-Monitor and improve metrics such as length of stay, readmission rates, sepsis care bundles, and hospital-acquired condition prevention.

Academic Teaching and Mentorship:

-Serve as a clinical educator for internal medicine residents and medical students from affiliated academic institutions.

-Provide bedside teaching, lead teaching rounds, supervise case discussions, and offer feedback to trainees on clinical reasoning, patient communication, and professionalism.

-Participate in academic conferences, grand rounds, journal clubs, and hospital-wide educational sessions.

-Contribute to curriculum development, quality research initiatives, and mentoring early-career physicians.

Professional Development and Leadership:

-Remain current with continuing medical education (CME), maintenance of certification, and advances in hospital medicine.

-Take an active role in department meetings, strategic planning discussions, and hospital governance committees when assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
