What is the opportunity?
This leadership role is responsible for managing a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists who support the adjudication process by providing expert risk management and return-to-work services across multiple lines of business. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that emphasizes exceptional client service and operational excellence.
What will you do?
Responsible for leading, coaching, training and mentoring a team of vocational rehabilitation specialists to achieve continuous improvement and consistent results.
Responsible for staffing within the unit, including selection, retention, career development and performance management
Serve as lead risk manager, lead technician and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on vocational rehabilitation, disability management, risk management and return-to-work (RTW) matters as they relate to the disability claim
Responsible for setting team and individual objectives and achieving claims resolution/RTW results with adherence to RBC's return to work philosophy, practices and procedures.
Conduct necessary due diligence on prospective rehabilitation service providers and build key relationships with vendors in the industry
Lead projects and initiatives within the Vocational unit and across Life and Health Claims
What will you need to succeed?
Must have
Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation or clinical services
Minimum 3 to 5 in a leadership or senior management role, supervising teams and programs
Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating vocational rehabilitation programs
Proven experience in overseeing vendor performance, managing contracts, and driving cost-effective and client centric vendor solutions
Post Secondary Education in health sciences, psychology, social sciences, nursing, or a related field
Nice to have
Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRAC) and/or College of Vocational Rehabilitation professionals accreditation (RRP and/or CVP) preferred
Special Conditions
Ability to work remotely out of Alberta, BC, Ontario, Quebec
