The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV's goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The RTR (Real-Time Rail) Lead is responsible for developing and executing plans to deliver RTR program. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams in product, technology, operations, compliance, risk, and liaise with industry partners and clients to ensure successful implementation of the program. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the Canadian payments industry including Payments Canada systems, rules and regulations, proven track record of program delivery, demonstrated strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage various stakeholder groups. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate within the rapidly evolving payments landscape in Canada.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy Development and Execution:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure success of RTR program and related initiatives
- Develop delivery plans that support the short, medium and long-term roadmaps for real-time payments, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements
- Lead working group sessions with clients, vendors, stakeholders and internal business functions to understand and capture requirements, conduct impact analysis, design solutions, and identify issues, risks and mitigation strategies
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Be the primary contact with industry stakeholders to influence directions and assess impact and risk to PPJV and its clients
- Manage change and lead business readiness in the implementation
- Manage technology vendors and service providers ensuring they are meeting project timelines and deliverables
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of business analysts, operations and technology team members for a successful program delivery
- Collaborate with product, technology, operations, and compliance teams to identify requirements, issues and risks
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
- Master's degree is an asset.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in banking, payments, fintech or related industry.
- Extensive experience in system integration with a particular focus on real-time payment solutions.
- Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services and payments sector.
- Strong experience in transformation and change management programs.
Skills:
- Strategic thinking, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Project management and risk management.
