Job Description
This Associate Director for the AbbVie Patient Services Marketing team supports the Immunology portfolio, with a focus on gastroenterology. The Associate Director leads strategic marketing planning for Immunology Patient Services programs and tactics, including: value propositions, positioning, patient initiatives, and creative development. The Associate Director serves as the patient service program and product subject matter expert for the Patient Services marketing team. (While this role supports the gastroenterology therapeutic area, previous gastroenterology experience is not required for consideration.)
The Associate Director plays a pivotal role by closely collaborating with multiple teams to ensure the successful development and execution of strategies for Patient Services marketing. Within the organization, the Associate Director cultivates strong working relationships and encourages extensive collaboration with teams in Patient Services, Digital Lab, Co-pay Center of Excellence, Patient Engagement, medical and regulatory review, market research, business analytics, Patient Services Training, and other cross-franchise teams. Externally, the Associate Director partners with various agencies and consultants to effectively lead the implementation of marketing strategies and plans for numerous stakeholders. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and a patient focus that drives the need for quality deliverables and performance.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of the strategic and tactical plan development for Immunology Patient Services Marketing plans for multiple brands to achieve objectives
- Provide oversight of agency relationships, focusing on partnerships with their Account, Strategy, Project Management, Creative, Measurement, CRM, Digital, Media, and Social teams to develop innovative and impactful initiatives and tactics that align with the Patient Services strategic imperatives
- Effectively collaborate with Marketing Directors, business leaders and cross-functional teams within a highly matrixed organization to develop and execute marketing plans to achieve business objectives.
- Assist in leading APS Marketing Annual Planning Process and collaborate with business partners to ensure pull-through across portfolio
- Partner with internal technology and development teams to determine feasibility of new capabilities and ownership of above brand pilots
- Development of patient experience journeys and then leverage these journeys to develop Patient Services programs to ensure patients have the resources they need to adhere to their doctor prescribed treatment plan
- Provide leadership, direction, mentorship and development for direct reports
- Understand trends in the marketplace impacting Patient Services Marketing using data- informed strategic insights to optimize plans on an ongoing basis
- Consistently execute multiple marketing initiatives on time
- Evaluate the effectiveness of campaign strategies through campaign measurement and metrics development to achieve brand objectives
- Effectively track and manage the marketing budget
Qualifications
- BA/BS Required, MBA Preferred
- Proven marketing experience with increased proficiency in all marketing skills
- 8+ years of marketing experience, with the ideal candidate having some previous Pharma experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage brand positioning, omnichannel strategy, end-to-end campaign management, and finance management
- Strong planning and organization skills, attention to detail, execution, and follow-through
- Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies
- A balance of analytical capability and creative vision
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally
- Ability to influence senior management
- A strong track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and an ability to work with all levels in a highly matrixed organization
- Experience managing marketing budgets effectively
