Position Summary:

Reporting to the Hydraulic Technology Manager, the Hydraulic Specialist provides solutions-oriented sales support. This role requires expertise in hydraulic components and fluid power systems, including foundational knowledge of associated electrical and control systems. The Specialist will analyze customer requirements, challenge assumptions to develop tailored solutions using partner products or MFCP-engineered systems, and facilitate communication between customers, vendors, and MFCP engineering to ensure project success. They will collaborate effectively within a team, promote MFCP capabilities to sales and customers, act as a liaison for Engineering and Center of Excellence Services, and drive growth in our hydraulic component and engineered systems business.

Primary Duties:
  • Drive Hydraulic Sales: Proactively increase sales of Hydraulic products and systems within assigned Districts/Branches.
  • Define Project Scope: Accurately interpret customer and sales-provided information to establish explicit project scopes and work definitions.
  • Develop Profitable Solutions: Employ thorough questioning to gather critical information and ensure MFCP delivers profitable engineered system solutions.
  • Promote Engineered Systems: Serve as an engineering liaison, effectively showcasing engineered system capabilities to internal and external clients.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Directly engage with customers to support engineered system design and maintain high customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage Direct Customer Relationships: In territories without a dedicated manager, act as the primary customer contact for hydraulic product and solution offerings.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with other MFCP departments (accounting, shipping, contracts, and others) to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Oversee System Implementation: Lead or provide expert assistance with the installation, startup, and troubleshooting of engineered systems, including potential support for third-party systems.
  • Maximize Solution Offerings: Effectively leverage and promote the full range of MFCP and vendor partner capabilities to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Technical and Functional Skills:
  • Hydraulic Systems Sales Expertise: Proven success in selling a comprehensive range of hydraulic solutions, including valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, filters, systems (hydraulic power units "HPU", assemblies, subsystems), custom manifolds, and MFCP build-center solutions. Requires a minimum of five years of field experience, with ten years preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) for customer communication, project updates, reporting, and training support.
  • ERP/CRM Knowledge: Possesses or can quickly develop working knowledge of P21 ERP and Tour De Force.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive. Job requires frequent lifting up to 75 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring, and climbing ladders as needed.
  • Work environment may vary including warehouse containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements, office work, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers.

Salary:

$80,000 - $100,00/year, commensurate with skills and experience.
