Become a Facilities Construction Senior Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will:

  • Manage capital facility projects from initiation to occupancy, ensuring compliance with policies, codes and regulations.
  • Oversee scope, schedule, and budget development, and track project progression.
  • Maintain project documentation, obtain financial approvals, monitor spend, and implement change control.
  • Provide leadership and direction to service providers, project and construction managers, and consultants.
  • Support project planning, estimating, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Facilitate vendor selection and business financial justification.
  • Advise leadership on project scope, risk, cost, and schedule.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning in the development of General Rate Case and Long Range Plan.
  • Develop project approval documentation, including business cases, financial reports, and presentations.
  • Present project updates to clients and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manages activities of one or more large, mid to long-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
  • Develops business plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization
  • Provides inputs to organizational objectives and policies and ensures delivery of results
  • Engages regularly with senior management as a key consultant on critical business issues
  • Leads feasibility studies, site selection, conceptual design, and proposal development for new facility projects
  • Coordinates workflows between general contractor, owners, and inspectors throughout the construction process
  • Champions construction standards, execution plans, commissioning protocols for institutional facilities
  • Implements quality control and inspection procedures to ensure construction meets codes, standards, and passes regulatory inspections
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in facilities construction project management.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate in Construction Management, Project Management Professional (PMP) or other accredited certification.
  • Well-rounded understanding of building systems, infrastructure and architectural, engineering, design and construction practices.
  • Industry experience in new construction and renovation of commercial facilities.
  • Experience in procurement, contract management, supervision and oversight of contractors and service providers.
  • Experience in project planning, estimating and value engineering.
  • Competency in using computer applications including MS Office Suite and MS Project, to develop and manage reports and presentations.


Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
