Position Summary

Working under the general direction of the Associate Director Nebraska Center for Justice Research (NCJR), the candidate will provide data collection and management, advanced analytical support, research project planning, develop research instruments, as well as writing and editing support for technical reports, academic publications, and grant and contract proposals. A Senior Research Specialist is expected to lead analytic development of research projects, working both independently and collaborate with School of Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty, graduate students, site practitioners, project collaborators, and funding agencies. This position does not require supervision of graduate students or for the individual to serve as Principle Investigator (PI) on research projects.

Advanced Analytical Support

Duties:

Use a wide range of analytical techniques and knowledge in areas that include fixed and mixed effects regression, machine learning, factor analysis and data reduction techniques, missing data analysis, resampling and model validation procedures, power analysis, propensity score matching, and sample balancing procedures.

Duties:

Clean, code, and merge large agency record data bases, using a variety of relationship operations to create analytical data sets, including time series, longitudinal, and repeated measures structures. Write statistical software code, using R, SPSS, Python, MPlus, and Stata.
