Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:
Safran Helicopter Engines USA (SafranHE USA) in Grand Prairie, Texas is hiring a Quality, Safety, and Regulatory Manager to play a critical role in ensuring the compliance and Safety Management System (SMS) program deployment operates within the applicable regulatory agencies to support 14 CFR Part 145 and Part 21G programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Quality, Safety, and Regulatory Manager will be responsible for the training, promotion, assurance, policy, procedures, processes, regulatory interaction, risk management, and metrics associated with our regulatory and Safety Management System.
The primary responsibility is to coordinate between the United States of America Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK-CAA), Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), Argentinian Administracin Nacional de Aviacin Civil (ANAC), to achieve validation of Safran Helicopter Engines United States of America (SafranHE USA). The regulatory specialist will also monitor FAA, EASA, etc. regulations and changes and provide advice to SafranHE USA internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements in each sector. Additionally, you will engage in regulatory affairs with FAA, EASA, etc., in support of the SafranHE USA Government Affairs team.
A secondary responsibility will be to develop, deploy, and execute the Safety Management System (SMS) processes for both FAA and EASA to identify, evaluate, assess and mitigate safety risks inherent to the product design, production and maintenance. Ensure integration of human factors principles to drive improvements to reduce risk with a focus on eliminating human error in products and services.
Provide guidance for safety policies, procedures, rigorous safety risk assessments, hazard evaluations, risk correction/control, monitoring, safety assurance processes, training and safety promotion across the business in coordination with global Safran Helicopter Engines business activities and priorities.
I n this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Audit and Inspection Preparation:
Prepare the organization for regulatory audits and inspections from relevant authorities, including the FAA, coordinating efforts across departments
Conduct internal audits to identify and address potential compliance issues proactively
Provide training to staff on regulatory compliance matters related to international regulations, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements
Communicate regulatory updates and changes from multiple authorities to relevant departments
Travel specifictity
Domestic and international travel could be required up to 15%.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive system for documenting compliance activities within Part 145 and 21G.
Ensure accurate record-keeping of all relevant documents and certifications.

Scopes and Accountabilities:
The Quality, Safety, and Regulatory Manager will be accountable for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This includes furthering the development and long-term success of the SMS within SafranHE USA. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
This position requires an understanding of Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to implement and maintain compliant processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to establish and oversee effective compliance programs. The candidate will serve as the focal for SMS deployment.

Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 10+ years of cumulative industry experience in Aerospace, Safety Management System deployment, Quality Management Systems, Auditing, Production Operations, Project Management, Airworthiness Certification, Flight Test, or Engineering.
Bachelor's degree is preferred, advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience, related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
Experience working in aviation safety management systems and compliance within 14 CFR Part 145 and or 21G.
Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance material required.
Understanding of product validation principles and bilateral airworthiness agreements.
Preferred rotorcraft knowledge.
Preferred A&P Certificate.
Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black belt preferred). Passion for product certification and validation.
Collaboration: Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Optimizes Work Processes: Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills and fully fluent in the English language (written and spoken).
