About the Role:

We're seeking a strategic and experienced professional to lead our Professional Liability and Cyber lines. The Head of Professional Liability and Cyber will be responsible for setting the vision, driving underwriting strategy, product innovation, portfolio management, and team leadership across both lines of business. This is a key executive role that will influence underwriting excellence, profitability, and market presence.
  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Develop and execute underwriting strategy for Professional Liability and Cyber products.
    • Build and lead a high-performing team of underwriters and product managers.
    • Serve as a thought leader across the organization on emerging risks, market trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Product & Portfolio Management
    • Oversee product development and refinement, including coverage forms, pricing models, and risk appetite.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain profitability.
    • Drive innovation in response to evolving exposures in tech, legal, healthcare, fintech, and other sectors.
  • Market Engagement
    • Represent the company with brokers, clients, and at industry events.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners.
    • Lead initiatives to grow market share in target segments.
  • Governance & Operations
    • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
    • Partner with actuarial, claims, legal, and data teams to ensure a holistic view of risk.
    • Report on key metrics and provide insights to executive leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CPCU/ARM/RPLU designation a plus.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in professional liability, cyber, or specialty insurance.
  • Strong technical underwriting background with experience in leadership roles.
  • Proven success in building and managing profitable portfolios.
  • In-depth knowledge of E&O, D&O, and Cyber markets and trends.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.


For NY Only: The base range for this position is $240,000-$350,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
