Summary of Position:
This is a working manager position where the manager will supervise/perform corporate engineering work including the estimating and/or reviewing of reserves and production forecasts. He/she will assist in creating and directing processes for quarterly and year-end review including the process for detailed reconciliations. He/she will be an expert in the company on SEC guidelines for reserves and will supervise/perform technical studies to quantify unproved reserves and resources. He/she will work closely with the Asset Teams in gathering and analyzing appropriate data. This position is responsible for our reserves and SOX processes.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the corporate reserves process, including mid-year and year-end evaluations, ensuring accurate classification and categorization of reserves in accordance with SEC and PRMS guidelines.
- Oversee and guide internal reserves engineering teams; collaborate with asset teams (geoscience, reservoir, production, and finance) to collect and validate technical and economic data inputs.
- Manage the third-party reserves audit process, ensuring transparency, consistency of assumptions, and proper documentation.
- Develop and maintain standardized reserves methodologies, workflows, and databases to support audit readiness and process efficiency.
- Direct SOX documentation and compliance efforts related to year-end reserves reporting.
- Coordinate with technical teams to integrate development and exploration programs into corporate reserves and resource models.
- Assist in the evaluation of reserves for acquisition and divestiture opportunities as needed, , including decline analysis, production forecasting, and full-cycle economic assessments.
- Assist with budget and long-range planning activities as requested at the corporate level
- Maintain corporate Aries database that captures the full suite of economic opportunities and work with the Finance team on NAV modeling and borrowing base redeterminations
- Assist Financial Accounting with quarterly Impairment and ad hoc Fair Market Value analyses
- Support corporate planning, budget forecasting, and capital allocation by providing strategic insights and reserves-related analysis.
- Assist in shaping operational strategies based on current and projected reserves development.
- Prepare and present reserves-related reports, forecasts, and recommendations to executive leadership, the board of directors, and investors.
- Ensure corporate reserves policies remain compliant with internal standards, industry best practices, and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Foster alignment between corporate and asset teams on reserves strategy, technical assumptions, and risk management.
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with CIVI safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Uphold and enforce company standards across all reserves activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Deep understanding of SEC and PRMS reserves classification systems and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in reserves and economic evaluation software such as ARIES, PHDWin, or similar.
- Prior leadership experience in a corporate reserves function or related technical oversight role.
- Familiarity with reserves reporting standards and multi-basin operations.
- Strong working knowledge of production forecasting, decline curve analysis, and probabilistic assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive standardization and continuous improvement across technical workflows.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the reserves engineering team, setting clear goals and ensuring high-quality work.
- Oversee workload management, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster collaboration across departments to align on reserves strategy and execution.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, with at least 7 years focused on reserves management and reporting.
- Proven experience managing third-party reserves audits and leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Travel & Additional Requirements:
- Work Location: Work is performed at both field and office locations.
- Schedule: Traditional 40-hour workweek or an alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
