Medela is seeking an Implementation Manager-Surgical Medical Device

Purpose of the role: In conjunction with the Business Development and Marketing, develop and build client business relationships by delivering a positive evaluation and/or on-boarding experience with the Digital Chest Drainage solution in the surgical hospital space.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of medical device implementation in the surgical hospital space. The ideal candidate will have performed the following in a prior position:
  • Lead gathering of required information pre-evaluation / pre-implementation to be provided to hospitals / third party vendors used by hospitals (e.g. Greenlight, Symplr).
  • Work with key admin & hospital staff to establish training needs, schedules for in-servicing, and evaluation /outcome measures.
  • Provide initial and ongoing CT education to MDs, Nursing and other key clinicians re-motely and as aligned with Business Development Managers.
  • Provide day to day oversight of the client evaluation / implementation including understanding the clients' goals and use cases, recommend and guide product configuration, help set expectations, and establish priorities.
  • Form strong relationships with clients by serving as the primary point of contact for implementation, understanding and communicating client feedback internally.

Education/Experience Requirements, Implementation Manager-Surgical Medical Device
  • Associate's degree in Nursing or (A.D.N.), Bachelor's degree in Nursing (B.S.N.) or alternatively Bachelor's degree in business
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a client-facing project management, consulting, or operations role; in a healthcare related field.
  • Experience working in an environment with global objectives
  • Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Salesforce.com will be considered an additional asset
  • Good customer relationships, leadership skills, and team-building competencies
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to provide client support onsite


Position Responsibilities, Implementation Manager-Surgical Medical Device
  • Adhere to strict procedural and quality standards, including thorough and accurate documentation of the individual customer evaluations / implementation projects.
  • Support the implementation process by owning timely and accurate documentation/sign off of the Implementation Questionnaire and other related documents, communication of client commitments and expectations to internal partners, interpreting and providing context for client requests, ensuring appropriate review and customer sign-off, supporting site visits and conference calls, and related responsibilities to ensure flawless implementations.
  • Provide client support both virtually and onsite, via webinar/group meeting or individual consultation.
  • Leverage Salesforce as the enterprise customer relationship management tool for documenting all client contacts and deliverables requiring follow-up, including appropriate & accurate documentation of client information, issues, projects, & work requests; oversight of assigned cases; and adherence to due dates.
  • Promptly respond to service failures, resolve issues, and escalate concerns as appropriate to the responsible Business Development Manager and /or line manager.
  • Complete special projects as assigned (e.g. development of SOP for return of pumps after evaluations, etc.).
