What You'll Do:
  • Manage a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists responsible for filling all roles with top talent.
  • Coach the team to develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain a talent database (CRM) and continually develop strong pipelines of talent for critical and niche roles.
  • Leverage leadership skills to drive a high-performing team, set clear KPIs, and actively track and review team performance based on KPIs and sourcing metrics.
  • Act as an effective consultant to senior leaders in the business and HR to ensure Medcan hires the right talent for the right roles.
  • Partners with key stakeholders in each business function, such as Product Managers, hiring managers, and functional heads, to build strategic recruitment plans and execute them.
  • Lead the Hot Skills talent strategy for Medcan, participate in the committee, and deliver on TA plans for this program.
  • Coach and lead the team to deliver on New Grad and Co-op hiring and play an active role in planning and executing the campus recruitment strategy for medical profession groups.
  • Stay abreast of key technology and workforce trends in Canada and globally.
  • Effectively manage external vendors and participate in the selection process.
  • Collaborate with marketing to build an effective social media presence by sharing content and driving engagement through social channels.
  • Manage recruitment for senior-level/Director+ roles as needed.
  • Partner with peers to drive new and innovative recruitment initiatives for the business.
  • Stay informed on best practice candidate sourcing and recruitment strategies, trends, and technology.
  • Measure, track, and report on recruitment performance against defined metrics, including Hiring Manager and new hire satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular meetings with TA Specialists to track progress, help remove roadblocks, and mentor. Set clear goals with each specialist and conduct performance reviews.


What You'll Need:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a business-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in recruitment with a focus on talent, workforce planning, and recruiting.
  • Previous recruitment experience in medical staffing roles is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a team of recruiters with a minimum of 4-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with global hiring and immigration processes is an asset.
  • Experience with campus recruitment is an asset.
  • Prior use of Workday is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, leadership, and mentoring.
  • Strong people management, client engagement, and internal consulting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong business acumen, reporting, and PowerPoint building skills are an asset.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic to meet challenging and changing deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and manage special projects at a local and national level.
  • Demonstrated business professionalism, respect for confidentiality, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong client relationships with senior executives.
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills with the ability to understand broad Human Resources issues and resolve conflict situations effectively.
  • French bilingualism is an asset.

This full-time role reports to the Vice President, Human Resources. The work schedule is hybrid, with two days in the office per week.
