Description:

Zolon Tech Inc. seeks an experienced Technical Writer to join our National Security Business Unit. This role is a critical part of our Proposal Development Team and will be responsible for leading the creation of clear, compliant, and compelling proposal content in response to federal solicitations. The ideal candidate deeply understands the federal acquisition lifecycle technical writing best practices and thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and edit technical content for federal proposals, including, but not limited to:
Technical and Management Approaches
Transition and Quality Assurance Plans
Staffing Plans, Resumes, and Past Performance Narratives
Validate outlines and content plans against solicitation (RFP/RFQ) requirements.
Translate complex IT concepts (e.g., cloud, cybersecurity, application development) into understandable, benefits-driven language.
Ensure all content adheres to compliance checklists, evaluation criteria, and proposal templates.
Support iterative reviews, color team cycles, and content finalization under tight deadlines.
Provide editorial support across the proposal lifecycle, including editing, proofreading, and formatting.
Worked across multiple simultaneous proposals and assignments while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience writing and editing federal proposal content (Civilian, DoD, or Intelligence Community).
Ability to write across technical domains such as cloud modernization, cybersecurity, enterprise IT support, and agile software development.
Familiarity with the Shipley proposal process and federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
Excellent grammar, communication, and collaboration skills.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
Experience using proposal development tools.

Preferred:
Knowledge of or experience supporting Department of State (DOS), DOE, DOJ, Treasury, or Client contracts)
Experience supporting self-scoring bids or GWAC proposals.
Shipley and/or APMP certification
