Cogent People Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solution Architect to support a high-impact program within the Federal Healthcare domain. In this role, you will serve as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on technical expert, leveraging your architecture experience to design and implement a mission-critical enterprise system that serves a national user base. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with others to define and implement optimal, complete solutions based on stakeholder needs. Apply and generate best practices in multiple technical domains using open source and commercial technology products and services.
- Evaluate technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to make rational design decisions from business and technical perspectives and communicate recommendations.
- Engage with external vendors to evaluate products and lead proof of concept development.
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
- Provide technical leadership regarding integration impact across business, information, application, technical and security architectures.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, developers, QA, and 3rd party service providers to understand functional requirements and collaborate with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features.
- Prepare solution design artifacts and present it to technical/architecture audience for approval before implementing the design.
- Embrace SaFE agile environment with corresponding increments, iterations, and work products.
- Participate in strategic planning activities, including roadmaps, costs planning, and work breakdowns.
- Guide and mentor team members on principles and best practices.
Requirements
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of?experience in the IT field focusing on development projects, DevSecOps, and technical architecture specifically, with proven track record of successful delivery.
- Strong architecture & design experience deploying highly distributed enterprise applications on AWS, across the infrastructure and application tiers.
- Deep understanding of high availability, scalability, performance, and security, especially on the AWS platform.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures, asynchronous processes, high performance and high throughput systems.
- Experience designing and implementing data-centric systems with multiple heterogeneous data sources and large volumes of data.
- Well versed and hands on expertise in implementing AWS stack such as:
- Serverless Architecture, containerization, FarGate, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions
- AWS RedShift modeling and performance tuning techniques
- API Gateway, load balancing
- Network and security infrastructure (VPC, availability zones, security groups, IAM)
- Experience in implementing data streaming solutions using Kinesis, EventBridge, Kafka,
or similar technologies.
- Proven success with hands-on development, prototype, trade-off and selection analysis, and evaluations of various technologies.
- Experience with building, delivering, and managing large-scale high-performance Cloud-based big data environments, with focus on low-maintenance and operations automation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Health insurance marketplace or CMS Federal Facilitated Marketplace experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and ATO processes.
- AWS Architect Certification preferred.
- Experienced in writing technical volumes for business proposals.
- Experience with presenting solutions to customers and executives.
