Description:

Will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales of MathWorks sophisticated engineering products to customers across a range of engineering industries -- Oil & Gas, Medical Devices, and Industrial Automation; designing and developing of sophisticated engineering product models and simulations to demonstrate the application of MathWorks products in engineering systems; developing engineering systems through the use of modeling and simulation; driving MathWorks' Technical Computing and Model-Based Design products in the Oil & Gas, Medical Devices, and Industrial Automation sectors; and working with geoscientists, electrical and mechanical engineers to understand their technical and business challenges and propose solutions for developing advanced systems. Requires domestic/international travel based on company/client need (approximately 30-40 %). May telecommute up to 40%.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Employer will accept a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Application Engineer (or related occupation) using MATLAB to build simulations of physical systems.

Must also possess:
  • Demonstrated expertise using MATLAB to develop programming solutions for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in physics-based and data-driven machine and deep learning methods for modeling and simulation of Oil & Gas subsurface Earth systems processes using MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing presentations and technical reports on applied mathematics, applied physics, or engineering and model-based design topics for scientific review; and presenting physics and data-driven subsurface solutions at conferences and technical workshops.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing and deploying innovative workflows for integrated characterization and analysis of subsurface Earth systems processes for the Oil & Gas industry; and implementing MATLAB solutions to address technology gaps in industry standard tools -- Petrel, DecisionSpace, Hampson-Russell, and ikon RokDok.
