Responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing logistics operations, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. The individual should be comfortable working in a fast paced, fluid environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The position is a blend of short-term execution and long-term strategic planning, which requires exceptional decision-making skills. Additionally, this role will own the parcel transportation budget and be responsible for optimizing unit and order economics, as well as carrier performance and SLA. The role plays a critical part in balancing service, cost, and customer experience, proactively navigating through seasonal peaks and promotional calendars.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the strategic direction and logistics roadmap for Phoenix's global small parcel transportation needs.
  • Own the selection, negotiation, and on-going relationship management for all partners.
  • Own total cost per shipment and overall shipping P&L including freight audit to pay.
  • RFP services as needed.
  • Provides guidance on the demand plan for the brands and business, ensuring alignment with business priorities and initiatives.
  • Primary point of contact for pickup and partner locations (aka 3PL partners and stores)
  • Monitor transportation metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise and mentor transportation staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Utilize logistics software and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Handle transportation-related issues, such as delays, damages, or customer complaints.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve supply chain coordination.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data to make informed business decisions.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Years of Experience: 7+ years
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.


CRITICAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Must have excellent communication (oral and written),
  • Strong and demonstrated knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
  • Previous experience owning parcel budget $50MM- $100MM preferred.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors is a plus.
  • Knowledge of all billing elements and surprises i.e., GRI, DSA, fuel, etc.
  • Knowledge of reporting and auditing performance measures
