Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Regional Controller to join our team in Heber, UT. The Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing financial operations across multiple reporting regions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting regional leadership in achieving profitability targets. This role requires strong financial acumen in construction-specific processes including billing, change orders, and work-in-progress (WIP) management. The ideal candidate brings a proactive, collaborative approach to financial oversight, supports operational decision-making, and ensures accurate reporting through the use of systems like JD Edwards (JDE) and Ecosys.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting
  • Lead regional financial reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Oversee profit tracking, revenue recognition, cost analysis, and forecasting processes.
  • Manage financial compliance and support internal/external audits.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and custom reporting for regional and senior leadership.

Project and Operational Support
  • Collaborate with regional teams to set up job cost structures, track project performance, and manage change orders.
  • Support field operations in billing and invoicing practices, including timely and accurate submissions.
  • Monitor and manage WIP schedules to ensure consistency with project progress and financial health.
  • Provide strategic financial insight to improve operational efficiency and margin performance.

Systems and Process Optimization
  • Utilize JD Edwards (JDE) and Ecosys to maintain data integrity, streamline workflows, and generate reports.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to financial systems, tools, and processes.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize procedures across regions for improved scalability and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the financial liaison between corporate, regional leadership, and project management teams.
  • Partner with departments across the organization to resolve financial issues, align budgets, and ensure accountability.
  • Facilitate clear communication and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders to drive business results.


What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction industry financial management, including WIP, revenue recognition, and job costing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, JD Edwards (JDE), and Ecosys or similar software.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, construction accounting standards, and internal control best practices.
  • Demonstrated success supporting multiple business units or regional teams.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Proven ability to manage audits and ensure financial compliance.
  • Willingness to travel to regional sites as needed.
