As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will plan, configure, and execute conveyor system projects for large distribution centers. Responsible for the technical quality and effectiveness of the mechanical design. Create and verify conveyor layout, detail, air, load, structural drawings, schematics, and equipment orders as applicable to the project. Plan equipment layout, material flow, and measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of resources and equipment on projects as assigned. Work with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of material handling equipment and solutions as required in support of project needs. Direct and coordinate building of prototypes. Confer with researchers and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems found during execution, preparing design modifications as appropriate. Perform a variety of calculations and prepare detailed multi-view drawings based on engineering data and standard references. In the field, identify field safety concerns; confirm equipment was installed per plans; communicate design issues and improvements with customers, site superintendents, general contractors, and installation crews; adjust conveyor design to accommodate for field interferences.
You will report directly to our Mechanical Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to project turnover of multiple projects concurrently from cradle to grave.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications and collaborate with product engineering on improvement of current technology/development of new technologies.
Design and develop complex conveyor MHE systems.
Drive continuous improvement within the department, and mentor junior engineers.
Perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure project performance and reliability
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

We expect this role, dedicated to the PPE business, will be part of this future transaction when it closes.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
10 + years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Full term of experience must including Autodesk, including AutoCAD, team center, and Navisworks; Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Oracle; forecasting multi-million-dollar projects; green field "cradle to grave" project execution; identifying engineering safety concerns and design improvements related to safety; and communicating design issues and improvements with customers, site superintendents, general contractors and installation crews.
Approximately 25% domestic/international travel required.
