Intermediate Level System Administrator - mPower Software Services

Essential Job Functions:
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in
accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Provide technical support to development staff
Assist with the configuration and operation of client based computer operating systems
Provide hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
Upgrade firmware
Support COTS products
Perform hardware buildouts
Build custom images to conform to FAA security benchmarks
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and communicate with impacted constituencies
Assist configure networking services and protocols

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field is preferred) + 5 yrs. related
experience
Experience using Red Hat software suite ( red Hat 5 and above)
Experience working with HP, Dell and Cisco products
Experience working with HP Openview, Loadrunner, VMWare, Rational software, Oracle, DOORS, SQL, Linux, Unix, and
Java
Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
