Cenovus is looking for a dynamic Senior Risk Analyst to join our innovative Insurance Team. This is your chance to be a key player in managing and directing our diverse insurance programs, including providing secondary support for our insurance captive. In this role you will build strategic partnerships and become a trusted advisor to a number of our key operating assets and you will be a contributor to the annual renewal process for key lines of coverage, including but not limited to property, casualty and executive lines.

Cenovus is looking for a dynamic Senior Risk Analyst to join our innovative Insurance Team. In this role you will build strategic partnerships and become a trusted advisor to a number of our key operating assets and you will be a contributor to the annual renewal process for key lines of coverage, including but not limited to property, casualty and executive lines.
What you'll do:
- Assist with strategic analysis of Cenovus's corporate risk transfer philosophy and development and maintenance of the company's insurance programs
- Develop underwriting information and work with external broker partners to facilitate the marketing of the Company's Canadian, U.S., and international risks to appropriate insurance markets
- Support, consult and provide insurance & commercial contract advisory services to internal team members to ensure risks are effectively assessed and managed within corporate risk tolerance and guidelines
- Take a lead role in planning and execution of periodic risk surveys at select operating assets, including occasional travel to site(s)
- Provide input into the strategy that drives coverage optimization and corporate risk mitigation, along with administrative support of Cenovus's corporate insurance programs
- Support with the allocation of premiums, coordinating certificates of insurance and partnering with internal collaborators to gather information to support renewals and insurance marketing efforts
- Review insurance policies to ensure accuracy and completeness of the coverage and policy documents and provide wording improvement recommendations
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- 8+ years of insurance related work experience. With Direct exposure to, or support of, the oil and gas industry
- Experience managing surety bond programs is an asset
- A post-secondary degree / diploma in a relevant subject area
- Completion of CIP, FCIP and/or CRM designation(s) considered an asset
- Experience with analyzing complex legal contracts, particularly indemnity and insurance clauses
- Strong understanding of insurance concepts, policies, and practices
