THE OPPORTUNITY
The Business Development Manager will be in a unique position to lead and manage Galvion's key partners in their assigned markets. This BD Manager will focus on, but not limited to; US Army Development and Program Offices focused but not limited to the Washington, DC Capitol Region. In this role, the manager will be accountable for new business, while also acting as the conduit between our external customers and internal Galvion resources dedicated to meeting the customer's needs. The BD Manager will not only be expected to capture business directly with the customer base, but also be the key point of contact, provide sales acumen, technical assistance and general relationship management.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain expertise of the technology markets which Galvion can generate revenue. This includes ballistic and non-ballistic helmets, lithium-ion soldier worn batteries, power management, bulk battery charging and hearing protection.
Responsible for Business Development initiatives within Key Army Program offices (PEO, RRSKO, DRSKO, C5ISR, Futures Command, CFT's, E2S2) for Armor and Soldier Power capabilities.
Develop and execute on an overarching 5-year Army forecast and pipeline, ensuring Galvion is well positioned for success within the defined space.
Provide product development inputs to Business Units based on customer needs/intelligence for current and future capabilities
Ability to problem-solve and sell consultatively, identifying and resolving any specific customer concerns.
Build and maintain a customer relationship matrix. Ensure all pertinent data pertaining to customers, as well as important customer correspondence is filed promptly and completely.
Review quarterly performance against agreed sales targets for assigned customers and distributors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
6+ years of experience in customer facing roles. Desirable: Customer service / Sales / Project management experience in Military / LE / Tactical business.
Must be confident, proactive, self-motivated and has the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them.
Should be able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas of dealing with them.
Open-minded, willing to learn new things, and innovative in thinking and problem-solving.
Proven project management track record in managing complex cross functional teams
Have working knowledge of DOD, GSA and other contracting mechanisms.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives with effective organizational skills that support corporate goals.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, ERP and CRMa plus.
Prior military or LE experience a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office base environment.
Domestic travel is required for approximately 50% of the time.
Some travel may be required between Galvion facilities, including international facilities.
