Kaiva Tech, LLC is seeking a Emergency Management Planner in the Washington, DC Metro Area.

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.
Workplace Type: Hybrid with (4) days remote and (1) day onsite in Washington, D.C. Please be aware that the workplace type allowed is approved by the client and is subject to change dependent on client needs and expectations.
Compensation:
Kaiva Tech is looking for a talented Emergency Management Planner to join the team full-time. This position pays $120,000 - $130,000 salary dependent on qualifications.
Please note that the salary range for this role considers a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions to include and not limited to experience, skill sets, training, certifications, and other organizational needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is capable, motivated and willing to learn and grow as the position evolves. In this exciting opportunity as an Emergency Management Planner your responsibilities will include:
Providing support to develop, maintain and implement emergency management plans for the Department, including facility, bureau, event specific, and operational planning.
Supporting the development and implementation of a multi-year strategy and program management plan for Department emergency planning.
Supporting prioritization of plans and planning efforts from development through execution for all threats and hazards.
Supporting development and ongoing engagement of collaborative planning teams, including developing meeting invites, agendas, talking point, presentations, and notes.
Conducting comprehensive evaluations of emergency plans for validity and conformity to existing plans, policies, and best practices, and for adherence to mandatory compliance requirements.
Providing policy and procedural guidance on emergency planning to domestic Department personnel.
Developing specific knowledge of domestic geographic area conditions and evaluate the effectiveness of planning team programming through research and familiarization visits.
Developing appropriate training, drills, and exercises to test emergency plans in coordination with the Exercise and Training Teams.
Analyzing emergency preparedness and planning initiatives and providing guidance on complex program initiatives essential to the Office of Emergency Management mission. Issues are frequently of a critical, sensitive, and possibly controversial nature.
Developing and delivering briefings to senior Department officials, domestic personnel, and other stakeholders on the total spectrum of the Department's domestic emergency planning.
Coordinating and supporting emergency planning requests for domestic personnel having access and functional needs and requiring individual preparedness plans.

Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of emergency management concepts and their application in preparedness and planning
Experience with occupant emergency planning, emergency preparedness planning, or operational planning
Expert writing skills and ability to write under pressure with short deadlines
Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods and procedures to investigate and evaluate facts and trends related to domestic emergency situations and the preparation of appropriate responses
Knowledge of general Emergency Management concepts
Knowledge of national level policy, including the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006; Executive Order (E.O.) 12656, Assignment of Emergency Preparedness Responsibilities; National Exercise Program; National Security Presidential Memoranda; and the National Preparedness System
Knowledge of Emergency Planning
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite products
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Five Years of Relevant Experience.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
None.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain stationary with a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
