Description

A&P Mechanic

The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of Company operated aircraft and articles as assigned in accordance with SkySkopes' policies and procedures. Ensures company operational goals and objectives are met, while guaranteeing all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals. The A&P Mechanic will report to the Director of Maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensures the safety of company aircraft, including but not limited to airworthiness, regulatory compliance, sound maintenance practices, processes and operations.
Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals to include specific chapters
Actively participates in the continuous improvement of the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures
Maintains work area in a clean and professional manner
Performs all other related duties as trained and/or assigned
Complete required logbook entries and ensure all appropriate return to service documentation is collected and filed.
Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues when directed.
Responsible for advising the Chief Pilot of any maintenance issues that would take an aircraft out of service.
Request aviation parts and supplies to maintain an adequate and orderly inventory of all stock items to ensure prompt repairs for operational readiness.
Represent SkySkopes in customer facing meetings and able to articulate our maintenance program.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Electrical troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand various documents such as 337's, Service Bulletins, AD's, etc.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude
Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime
Efficient in the use of electronic or paper-based manuals and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information
Ability to apply creativity and problem-solving skills in troubleshooting work
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive company and customer information
Ability to professionally interact with clients, the public, contractors, and other employees
Effective oral/written communication skills
Proficient using the most current software; Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2+ years of maintenance experience
Experience working with Piston Engines
SkySkopes Inc.
Created 01/28/25
FAA A&P License in good standing
Ability to pass a background and drug screen
Valid Driver's License

Preferred Experience:
Factory airframe/power plant schools
FAR 135 operations
Experience working with Cessna single engine, and Citation, preferred.
Inspection Authorization (IA)

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and use computers and power tools
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends

Job Type/Class: Exempt, Salary, Full Time
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Required travel: 30%
Pay: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
