Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking a Building Project Manager in Washington D.C to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
  • Manage and oversee the successful construction and delivery of a large-scale Heavy Maintenance Facility project.
  • Develop and monitor project goals while maintaining strong relationships with project team, consultants, owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite activities and provide day-to-day direction of onsite staff while ensuring that quality, productivity and safety standards are being met.
  • Ensure the project is executed in accordance with Project Requirements, government regulations, design criteria, within budget and on schedule; take appropriate action to minimize deviations, scope growth and unnecessary changes in addition to working to mitigate impacts of necessary changes.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred bachelor's (or greater) degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and has the ability to lead and motivate employees.
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as other applications such as scheduling software, document control software, Adobe / Bluebeam, etc.


Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.


Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. This is a non-exhaustive overview of the physical requirements of this job.
  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
