DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the Global pricing structure such that appropriate pricing is in place to achieve overarching revenue goals.
- Act as a liaison to the Global teams including Managing Directors and evaluate new offers as well as initiate recommendations for new offers.
- Evaluate and recommend the approach to be taken for new promotional offers, i.e. broad-based vs covert with select travel partners, select markets, as well as how the offer should be marketed.
- Establish sophisticated booking curves based on detailed historical data. Propose adjustments to planned curves based on other factors such as capacity changes, earlier launches, and competitive landscape.
- Track performance of promotions, sales, and tactical offers and formulate the results into summaries for presentation to senior management. Presentation should include return on investment as well as determination of incrementality of bookings.
- Perform postmortem reviews of specific cruises or regions where cruises are operated for better understanding of success or failure by cruise/region.
- Perform Competitive Analysis that will influence pricing, future capacity deployment as well as policies. This includes liaising with other departments to build reporting as well as incorporating that reporting into RM functions.
- Propose pricing for new seasons, including proposals for the appropriate FX rate for all offices/currencies, as well as pricing for Charter, Meetings, and Incentive groups. Analyze historical data as well as competitor information to make assumptions about future consumer behavior.
- Make recommendations on pricing and promotion initiatives to drive bookings. Develop and implement revenue management model enhancements.
- Analyze all air costs and determine if changes should be made to pricing, on a quarterly basis, for future cruises to mitigate risk to the company.
- Build financial models to predict pricing and cost patterns.
- Develop and present outcomes to senior management with specific action plans or recommendations on required improvements based on industry trends and business objectives.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Business Administration, Finance or related field
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of analytical work in business environment
- Strong preference from travel industry.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are of the utmost importance for this role.
- Must have a good understanding of finances and business operations in various departments of the company.
- Must be highly motivated and be able to self-direct on multiple tasks at the same time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical as findings will be made to upper management.
- Must be detail oriented and be able to work under pressure where analysis and recommendations will have significant financial implications to the organization.
- Excellent working knowledge of a variety of data querying tools is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel where complex formulas, pivot tables, and what if scenarios are to be created.
