Technical Specialist II in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
DUTIES: Ensure designs are fully integrated between multiple design disciplines. Ensure manufacturing and maintainability throughout the lifecycle of the product, including implementing configuration and change management practices, supporting design for manufacturing goals, and providing requirements and processes for each phase of the design process. Serve as the main interface with the Business Technology group for application development and for change management system reporting. Guide successful completion of major engineering programs or conceive research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services. Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Approach problem solving by balancing technical product, cost, and schedule. Work without appreciable direction, having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. Ten years of engineering experience required, including any experience with: aircraft design principles; structural, systems, or electrical design; CATIA V5 and SmarTeam; configuration and change management practices; and with writing requirement documents and documenting processes. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and ten years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and eight years of the above-listed experience, or a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and six years of the above-listed experience. National and international travel up 25%.
Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Additional Functions: Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Other Requirements: Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
