Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Software Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing Noah Medical's software and robotics-driven applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing the overall quality assurance strategy. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach with strong leadership skills to drive projects forward, even in the absence of immediate team support.

A Day In The Life Of Our Staff Software Test Engineer:
  • Develop and execute test strategies for Noah Medical's software and robotics-driven applications, focusing on both manual and automation testing.
  • Perform manual and automated testing on software and surgical robotics systems to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Author and maintain comprehensive test protocols, test plans, and test reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards by creating, reviewing, and maintaining Quality System documentation (e.g., FDA, CE, CFDA).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Product, and QA/RA teams to drive quality initiatives and product excellence.
  • Lead projects and action items independently, demonstrating strong leadership in driving execution and overcoming challenges.
  • Apply a systematic and structured approach to solving complex technical issues in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Take initiative to identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and drive implementation across teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders to align objectives and ensure seamless execution.
  • Support engineering and company-related tasks as needed on an ad hoc basis.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software test engineering.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS, batch scripting, and Python.
  • Extensive experience with software bug tracking systems (e.g. Jira), requirements analysis (e.g. Jama), and requirements traceability matrices and QMS (e.g. Arena).
  • Strong expertise in creating and maintaining software testing documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with batch and shell scripting.
  • Proven track record of success in software testing, debugging, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site regularly in San Carlos, CA.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Python, C#
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and distributed version control systems such as Git or GitLab.
  • Experience in the medical device industry, particularly with regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, CE, CFDA).

Pay Transparency

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Noah Medical offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors such as location as permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.

California Pay Range

$135,000-$173,000 USD

Noah Medical may offer remote, hybrid, or onsite work arrangements within the state of California depending on the specific team and/or role where applicable.
