Within Harris Williams IT, the Finance Solutions Product Manager role will help drive our competitive advantage in investment banking execution by differentiating with technology. Focus for this role will be on Finance technology solutions.
The solutions product manager will operate with a customer-centric mindset working closely with internal clients to synthesize business needs and system functionality into an innovative, executable vision for Finance. As a key program leader, the solutions product manager will research, assess, design and lead the implementation of technology solutions in partnership with Finance and technical engineering resources both internally and externally. This is a hands-on role; you will lead by doing.
This role is responsible for working closely with our finance partners to develop our future technology vision and implementation roadmap based on our pending move to the Oracle platform. This individual will lead the effort to design a simplified and automated technology suite of solutions that will provide finance and the firm with leverage to grow.

Vision
- Create a technology product strategy that modernizes, automates and simplifies work for both finance and IT, working closely with the Finance department.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a Trusted Advisor to guide strategic decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Leverage deep domain expertise to provide insights and recommendations, tailoring solutions to meet industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Ability to work with internal clients, including senior levels, to prioritize both large-scale initiatives and smaller tasks to ensure timely and efficient completion, balancing immediate needs with long-term goals and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Understand and contribute to all design aspects needed for any given financial IT solution (business requirements, application, information and data, risk, technology integration, and infrastructure).
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk and Enterprise Application teams to ensure solutions adhere to Harris Williams IT standards.
- Utilize data analytics and metrics to inform decision-making processes, driving strategic initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring they meet performance standards and deliver value to the organization
- Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage the product budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and efficient use of resources.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and continuously seek ways to improve financial systems and processes.
Product Ownership
- IT owner for all HW financial solutions such as Great Plains (current ERP), Oracle (future ERP), Purchasing and Procurement, Expense Management, and FP&A.
- Lead a direct and indirect team to sustain the existing platform, MS Dynamics Great Plains, while collaborating with external consultants to plan, design and implement a new platform, Oracle.
- Responsible for all areas of IT product ownership such as product strategy, product backlog prioritization and management, sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, sprint demos, story refinement, and release planning.
- Ensuring systems are maintained, updated, and aligned with business, IT, and PNC (parent company) requirements.
- Partner with internal and external engineering resources to lead the following:
- Institute appropriate governance, change management and security principles for the platforms.
- Apply best practices around systems, data and processes for appropriate risk mitigation.
- Integration ownership between finance platforms with other applications and vendors.
- Master data ownership and management for financial systems within the firm.
Delivery
- Ensure your product strategy considers process impacts and includes effective organizational change management. This approach helps align new initiatives with existing workflows, minimizing disruption and fostering smooth transitions.
- Engage in hands-on development of proof of concepts, including system configuration, workflow setup, and iterative solution refinement to ensure feasibility and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal and external technical engineering teams, IT, Finance, and third-party consultants and vendors on design, configuration, software development, testing efforts, and seamless system integrations
- Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to ensure timely delivery of services and products, while managing contracts and performance.
- Monitor and control product budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring expenditures align with financial plans.
Job Specific Competencies, Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or relevant field.
- 10+ years' experience
- Leading large enterprise implementation efforts, with a history of proven success.
- Utilizing structured IT product / program management methodologies.
- Leading project delivery including in depth understanding of both functional and technical deliverables.
- Investment banking or financial services industry experience highly preferred.
- Experience implementing Oracle ERP platform including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Contracts, Projects, Financial Consolidation and Close, Procurement and Purchasing, and Accounting Hub.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle ERP modules including Oracle databases, master data management and system integrations.
- Demonstrate a proven record working with external consultants and vendors to deliver successful large-scale systems implementations and transformations.
- Experience ensuring finance systems and processes comply with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements such as SOX, GAAP, and GDPR and parent company financial technology governance requirements.
- Passionate about Financial systems technology, innovation and a keen focus on simplification and automation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strength in constructing and delivering program updates to a variety of audiences.
- Well-developed project management toolkit and experience with program and portfolio management tools. Agile and/or Six Sigma certifications is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS) and APIs.
- Ability to work across matrixed teams to effectively itemize, prioritize and deliver workload.
