In addition to demonstrated total vehicle chassis experience and problem-solving skills, Candidate must possess a passion for performance and strong interest in technology. You will be required to interface with teams that include vehicle dynamics specialists, mechanical and e-drive powertrain engineers, NVH experts, road load durability teams, performance attribute owners, and digital feature owners allowing for numerous opportunities to expand technical knowledge in a wide area of automotive technologies, systems, and components.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Chassis Technical Leader responsible for checkpoint / milestone validation of design robustness with FP Chassis D&R's for all programs.
- Pre-program chassis design to include fully vetted manufacturing concepts for both component suppliers and vehicle assembly.
- Chassis system ownership of road load cascade, ride height transmittals, etc
- System level design mentality to create and optimize designs for performance, size, weight, durability, and cost by paying attention to every detail
- Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible
- Work with stakeholders and attribute owners across the company (Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, etc.)
- Develop and mentor performance experts in development of high-performance chassis systems including architectural layouts, engineering analyses, validation, and design and release activities that will deliver attributes Ford Performance is proud of.
- Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs to include prototype or simulations where appropriate.
- Deliver technical project presentations to senior management including results and accomplishments, conclusions and recommendations, and lessons learned.
- Mentoring and teaching other engineers will be key to success as Ford Performance grows. Projects frequently target high performing products, technology, user experiences, and launches.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in Underbody Chassis Systems Design to include min 5 years in a chassis release activity and min 5 years in broader architecture role
- Experience in mentoring and teaching engineers in Problem Solving and Robustness demonstration.
- Strong understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs & FMEAs)
Even better, you may have...
- Engineering MS degree or higher
- Additional experience in vehicle attribute development areas a plus, such as of vehicle dynamics, NVH, driveability, etc.
- Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several unique and complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.
